Demonstrating Mercy through Orphan Care and Prison Ministry
In addition to teaching theology at ABC, my wife Laura and I feel called to reach out to the poorest and most underprivileged people in Malawi. To that end, we work with a number of our graduates and students who are involved in both the ‘Ministry of Hope’ orphan daycare and the ‘Maula Prison Outreach’.
It is estimated that one out of four Malawians is HIV positive and one out of every ten is an orphan. The 'Ministry of Hope' feeds more than 1,500 orphans both physically and spiritually six days a week. We encourage our graduates and students to be involved with the 'Ministry of Hope' and purchase food for the MOH orphans as we are able.
Also, we participate we take students to Maula Prison every Thursday afternoon during the ABC school year to preach and teach the scriptures to those in the prison. We sponsor a soccer tournament at the prison twice a year where we preach the gospel to the entire prison. Also more than 200 prisoners attend our weekly meetings at which our students and I preach and teach from the Bible.
